Pittsburgh, PA – Acrobatiq, a leading education technology company backed by Carnegie Mellon University, announced today that partners National Louis University and Western Governors University were selected as two of three $100,000 Digital Learning Innovation Award Institutional Winners, and Quinnipiac University was honored as one of 10 faculty-led team $10,000 winners.

The OLC Digital Learning Innovation program recognizes exemplary higher education institutions and faculty-led teams for advancing student success through the adoption of technology-enabled learning solutions in undergraduate programs. The award is funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Postsecondary Success Program.

Acrobatiq partners receiving 2017 OLC Digital Learning Innovation Awards include the following:

National Louis University, for its use of Acrobatiq in its Harrison Professional Pathways Program, a research-driven, innovative bachelor’s degree that provides access for all students, at an affordable cost. Pathways uses Acrobatiq’s adaptive platform, along with success coaches and other tools, to nurture first-generation, low-income students through college and to career readiness. Applications for Pathways at NLU have surged 1,500 percent since its Fall 2015 launch, and enrollments have grown from 85 students at inception to a projected 1,500 in 2018.

Western Governors University, for its use of Acrobatiq in improving student outcomes in a specialized online course focusing on the development of affective skills for adult, undergraduate nursing students. More than 10,000 nursing students have completed the course, which was the result of a decade of research and independent evaluation. More than 76 percent of these students report they are more motivated to graduate.

Quinnipiac University, for its use of Acrobatiq to personalize learning and to collect meaningful data about student learning performance in an online, undergraduate degree completion program in Business Administration. Launched in Fall 2016, the online BBA is helping working adults who aim to complete a degree part-time by providing them with a learner-centered experience using adaptive learning technology, mastery-based learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
